Teasing de Christie des 3 nouvelles productions pour le festival de 2014 (80ème anniversaire):
" The Festival will open with Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier with Robin Ticciati conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra in his first season as Music Director. Directed by Richard Jones, the pivotal role of the Marschallin will be sung by internationally acclaimed soprano Kate Royal, who started her career in the Glyndebourne Chorus.
Continuing his exploration of Mozart operas at Glyndebourne, Robin Ticciati will also conduct the second new production of the 2014 Season; Mozart’s La finta Giardiniera. Written when Mozart was only 18, La finta Giardiniera will be performed at Glyndebourne for the first time, directed byFrederic Wake-Walker making his Festival debut. This miraculous early work, an opera buffa, is musically and dramatically a study for two of Mozart’s later masterpieces; Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte.
Verdi’s La Traviata, our third new production for 2014, will return to the Festival for the first time since 1988, in a much anticipated new production directed by Tom Cairns. Mark Elder will conduct the London Philharmonic with soprano Venera Gimadieva making her Glyndebourne debut as Violetta. "
